Tournament Rules
|

|
All tournaments sponsered by North Alabama Bass Angler's Association are open to the public. There are no membership fees.
We use a team format, but if an individual chooses, or has no partner, they may fish solo and pay the full entry fee. They will be allowed to weigh-in five (5) fish.
Entry fee for each tournament will be $30.00 per boat.
Big Fish Pots are optional. The fee for Big Fish Pot is $5.00 per person.

Rules
1. To qualify for the tournament weigh-in, contestants must be present for
both the launch and the weigh-in (unless prior approval is established, and
you must have paid the tournament entry fee prior to the tournament
launch to be eligible for any prizes).
2. Tournaments will begin at safe daylight, unless specified otherwise by
the tournament's sponsers.
3. Once the tournament begins, no one may leave their boat, except in
case of an emergency.
4. Only artificial lures with conventional casting equipment will be allowed.
5. No live bait, trolling, netting, spearing, or snagging will be allowed. All
fish must be mouth hooked.
6. All boats must comply with all local, state, and federal laws of water
safety.
7. Life jackets must be worn anytime the large motor is in operation and
the boat is on plane.
8. NO ALCOHOL OR ILLEGAL DRUG WILL BE ALLOWED BEFORE OR
DURING TOURNAMENT HOURS, EXTENDING THROUGH THE WEIGH-IN
PERIOD.
9. All participants must return to the launch site ( be INSIDE the no wake
zone at boat ramp) by weigh-in time. There will be NO fishing after weigh-in
time. Anyone fishing after weigh-in time will be disqualified.
10. No participants may fish within fifty (50) feet of another participant's
boat.
11. Tournament committee chairman and one committee member will weigh
all creels.
12. Records will be kept of each participant's creel.
13. Five (5) fish limit per boat. Fish must be a minimum of 12 inches
(unless superceded by lake rules).
14. Only Largemouth, Small Mouth, and Spotted Bass will be weighed.
15. All fish will be weighed on the same scales.
16. All fish will be measured with the mouth closed and the tail flat using a
Golden Rule measuring board.
17. An eight (8) ounce penalty will be accessed to each participant's total
for each dead fish brought to the scales. Dead fish will not be weighed.
18. All fish (except trophy fish you wish to have mounted), will be released
after the tournament weigh-in. The utmost care will be used when handling
fish so as to release them in the best possible condition.
19. Each Team in a boat will work out an agreeable arrangement for
expenses for travel to and from tournament site and boat operations.
20. Any complaints or tournament violations (protests) shall be presented
to the tournament director (or designee) at the weigh-in site, and a $20.00
fee shall accompany the protest. If the protest is proven valid, the $20.00
fee shall be returned to the individual filing the protest. If the protest is not
proven valid, the $20.00 fee will go into the hat, and a drawing will be held
for all participants EXCEPT the individual filing the protest.
21. Dip net will be allowed to aid in the boating of fish.
22. No boat shall lock through any Corps of Engineering lock and dam for
tournament purposes.
23. Each participant must cull down to the five (5) fish limit prior to
cranking the big engine and leaving the immediate area.
24. Any person willfully violating tournament rules will be disqualified from
the tournament and will be banned from all future tournaments sponsered
by North Alabama Bass Angler's Association.
